GUIDE: Alerts when server uses excessive resources

GpsGate will alert you and sometimes block operations when the operations are excessive and overall damaging for other applications and the server.

Examples of alerts for excessive resource usage on the server:

Spam block prevents a faulty Event Rule to send too many emails or SMS messages to one single recipient.

SMS & Email Quota per application.

The WatchDog service now sends you an alert if an email or SMS is not sent properly.

A server with many applications and event rules can generate a large number of email notifications. For best performance and to avoid being black-listed for spam, it is recommended that you setup multiple SMTP/email servers. Based on application tag or email domain.

How to setup multiple SMS providers

Reporting quota exceeded. Processing time quota can be set per application. Check under SiteAdmin -> [Select application] -> Quota

The WatchDog service notifies you about; Server off line. Performance problems. Protocol problems. Database problems. Number of trackers online goes under a certain limit. SMS and email sending issues.

We will over time introduce more quotas and alerts. Please post your ideas and feedback below on what you want to be automatically notified about.
