Tue Mar 05, 2013 8:03 pm

Note: for an updated version of this and other articles, we recommend you to check our knowledge base here

Driver ID in Tag Expression

The Driver ID in Tag Event Rule Expression is used to check if a Driver ID is in a Tag or if it is NOT in a Tag.

Note: This requires the use of Driver ID:s, usually with iButton or RFID.

This expression can for example be used to:
  • Send a command to activate a vehicle from the server if a driver is authorized to use the vehicle
Create an alert if an unauthorized Driver ID is trying to login on a vehicle
Installation

Please follow these steps to install
  • Go to "SiteAdmin -> Plugins -> Get More Plugins".
Select the "labsupdate.gpsgate.com" repository and install the "Driver ID in Tag Expression" plugin
Go to "SiteAdmin -> Applications" and select your application.
Activate "Driver ID in Tag Expression" under "Enable / Disable features"
    Save the application changes
Setup

Follow these steps to setup an Event Rule
  • Login to your application and create one or more Tags that contain the drivers with Driver ID:s that you want to check
Create an Event Rule that uses the new expression.
Please note the following in the Event Rule wizard steps:
Step 2: Select the vehicles you want to check with the rule, do not select the Driver Tag(s) here.
Step 4: Select the "Driver ID in Tag" expression and the Driver Tag(s) that should be checked.
You can check if a Driver ID is "in" a Tag or if it is "not in" a Tag.
