GpsGate Server v3.1 BETA released!!

Plugins included in the BETA release are:
Core, Driver Journal, Basic One, Reporting, Branding. Only Core is mandatory.

You find them under beta.gpsgate.com, use the "Change URL" button under SiteAdmin -> Plugins.

This topic will be updated frequently with news about v3.1 BETA!

How to upgrade your current installation

Upgrade Core from "beta.gpsgate.com"

We will support any upgrades. But it is wise to not make the upgrade yet on a 100+ server. You cannot undo the upgrade.

How to make a clean install.

First install GpsGate Server 3.0 here:
http://gpsgate.com/download

Then upgrade Core, and other plugins, from "beta.gpsgate.com"

If you want to re-install follow this guide:
topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=14647

What is included

* PDF reports topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15107

* New management of users, tags, views, roles and event rules integrated to map view. You never leave Map View. This is great! topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15015

* Driver Journal. http://gpsgate.com/blogComment/driver_j ... a_released

* Interval Event. Can be used for a elementary maintenance setup. topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15098

* Branding. You will loose any branding when upgrading to 3.1. You need to use the Branding Plugin to apply the branding again. After install, you find it under SiteAdmin -> Settings -> Branding.

* The _ReadData privilege and _Me tag introduces a whole new concept on how to setup your customer applications. Reports, Views and Event Rules can be made much more generic and you control who can see what using _ReadData and _Me. This will save you a lot of work.

Using _ReadData to determine who can see which vehicle data topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15060

Using the _Me tag to only see your own data topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15061

* Batch edit. How to make one change to a group of applications topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15091

* Server side _Odometer topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15099

* Geofences can now be set to "Always visible", and different tags of geofences can have different colors.

* TrackingSchedule Only saves position updates inside time schedule. A typical use is to make sure a vehicle is only tracked during business hours. topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15084

* It is possible to email reports to addresses not registered on the server.

More information will be published shortly!

Maybe the POI jumping issue has not really gone away but it seems to be a little better. Also in the track points tab even before I install the beta core the little refresh / clear screen arrows have gone. it used to sit on the LHS of draw tracks button. This was used to clear tracks after you have viewed them. How do I get that little track points clear / refresh icon back?

There are several improvement in beta 3.1.
-Some function now popup as float window that can move to any place, but within tracking system window only, it can not move to new tab.
-Driver journal add 3 more tab, it seem difficult to view. I suggest the 3 tab of Driver Journal should put in one window float and can re-size.
-I Suggest map can move to new tab or new window to make it easy view in multi-monitor.

Thanks
Best regards

Hi Johan,

Great work as i may say !!

I've got a small issue with the odometer value wich can be entered in this new 3.1 release:

I have entered the actual distance of our testvehicle and enabled the odometer in Teltonika FM1100 device.
After i've made a trip, i check the distance again and the distance of this trip is accumulated to the entered value. So far so good.
When i select this vehicle to watch the different routes, the odometer resets itself to the originally enterd value.
For example:
Odometer of vehicle before trip: 111553 km
Odometer after trip : 111589 km (is correct because trip was 35 km)
Odometer after selecting vehicle to see route: 111553 km

When opening terminal:last record says _odometer 35456.0254

So everything works fine untill i select vehicle for route info.

Thanks in advance for your time !

Kind regards

Hi Johan,

I forgot to mention that the distance in the routes tab is zero for today's route. And also in the accumulators section, 'latest entry' shows different distance than the one that was entered

kind regatds,

wintesla: Most likely you have mapped something to "OdometerAcc" in the device mapper, that has a constant value (of zero).

If you search for "OdometerAcc" in the forum you find many topics on the same issue.

Hi Johan,

You've made adjustments to the use of odometeracc. But we do not need to map odometer to it.
Can you tell me the importance of this odometeracc ? Do we need to map it again after this upgrade ?

thanks in advance
