Area Search Tool
This plugin enables you to draw a rectangle on the map and search the track data history for any vehicles that were present in the area during a given time span.
How to install
1. Login to SiteAdmin.
2. Go to Plugins.
3. Click on "Get More Plugins".
4. Download and install "Area Search".
5. Go to the application management page for the app that you want to enable it for.
6. Enable/Disable Features -> Plugins -> "Area Search".
The Area Search tool is activated by clicking the map tool bar icon which looks like a question mark on top of a rectangle with a dashed border. A rectangle can now be drawn on the map by click-drag-release. When the mouse button is released, a pop up window will appear. It is now possible to enter a range between two dates and times and press the button labeled "Search". If there were any vehicles in the area during the given period they will start to appear in a list in the pop up window.
If searching in large areas or with long time spans, the search may take a long time and return an excessive number of matches. The search can be stopped by pressing the button labeled "Abort" and the search parameters can then be narrowed down. It is possible to resize the rectangle on the map and/or change the dates and times and press "Search" again. Doing so will abort any current ongoing search and discard the current search results.
The result list contains vehicle names and the times at which they entered and left the area. Clicking an entry will display its track within the rectangle. Right-clicking on an entry will make a context menu appear that allows the user to draw the entire or partial track and also select it in the "Vehicles" list.
The latest search results can be recalled by selecting "Area Search" on the "Windows" menu.
