BlueTools is functionally dead

Wed Jul 08, 2009 8:14 pm

1) Franson says BlueTools isn't dead, but that new features won't be added.
2) Franson says they haven't tested BlueTools with Vista (and presumably Server 2008, and presumably Windows 7). So their most recent officially supported Windows desktop OS for BlueTools is EIGHT YEARS OLD!
3) Franson is falling way behind their competition with respect to what Bluetooth stacks are supported (e.g. Toshiba, BlueSoleil).
4) Another guy and I reported the exact same error, demonstrated in Franson's own sample apps. No response.

Summary, BlueTools is dead. Franson, if you're going to claim that BlueTools isn't dead, then support the latest OSes, support the latest stack revs, and support the newer stacks like Toshiba. Or send the source code to us customers who bought this library so we can fix the bugs ourselves.
