Passenger Manager preview release

Fri Apr 12, 2019 9:54 am

A new Passenger Manager is available in today's preview release!

Today’s preview release brings passenger management to GpsGate tracking partners. The new Passenger Manager is a back-end solution with real-time tracking and historical data.

Passenger Manager lets you track vehicles (called buses) and the people on board them. They might be school buses, large passenger vans, coaches, or any vehicle that carries VIP passengers. Organizations with important passengers as their ‘cargo’ are ideal end customers for tracking partners.

I had posted following queries but not received any response

Reading thru the Passenger Manager post following points are not clear to me

1. How do we define entry exit points for a passenger ?
2. Not clear about how to use check-in check-out signals under advance settings

Hi,

1. How do we define entry exit points for a passenger ?
Currently you cannot define a entry or exit point for a passenger.
The entry and exit point will be marked automatically when a passenger enters or exits the bus and swipes their RFID/iButton

2. Not clear about how to use check-in check-out signals under advance setting
Those are advanced options that can be used if your tracker/device keeps track of passengers and you don't want to use GpsGate algorithm to login/logout passengers.
If your tracker/device keeps tracks of passengers entry/exit, then, aside form the passenger identifier (RFID/iButton), it will send a signal saying that this is a login or a logout of a passenger. If your device doesn't keep track of passengers, which most don't, leave those setting blank.

Greg

Hello Greg,

I see potential this feature can apply to school bus.
It require Entry or Exit (Check in or Check Out) time to make sure operator know student on the Bus or exit Bus.
For example:
1- Half day student from 7:30 am to 11:30am, from home to school he/she will Check in between 6am to 6:50am and check out 7am to 7:30am and then from school back home he/she check in 11:40am to 11:59am and arrived home check out between 12:10pm to 1pm.
2- Full day student from 7:30 am to 4:00pm, from home to school he/she will Check in between 6am to 6:50am and check out 7am to 7:30am and then from school back home he/she check in 4:10pm to 4:30pm and arrived home check out between 4:40pm to 5:30pm.

This example similar to time attendant software.
I hope your team consider about improve features.

Thanks
Best regards

Yo Lim
