@markus

Admin may have 30-40 commands for some devices. Normal users have up to 10 commands.

The popup menu frame is also to narrow to show long command names.

A new version of Patch.v4 has been released as well as an update to the Device Manager.

1. Update Patch.v4 from beta.gpsgate.com repository.

2. Update Device Manager from labsupdate.gpsgate.com repository.

Fixes:
-Commands in the Device Manager should now show the localized name
-Commands sent via the Device Manager should now show up in the command panel (if they don't, refresh the page and from there things should work smoothly)
-Users without the "_ExecuteSpecialCommandAll" privilege are now unable to see administrator commands in the context menu and in the command panel.

Hi!

The updated device manager is not stable. Selecting tags does not bring up the right objects in the list. I also experienced that the device mnanager sent out commands to a selection of objects not corresponding to the list selected, apparently random objects.

The contet menu for objects/users still does not show all commands when the list is long, it seems like the topmost commands is hidden outside of the browser window.

The result is that the command panel and command control not in a stable status. In this case and in our opinion the recent changes has not been an improvement. The command panel with the drop down list worked muched better.

Thank you!

husky92, we will look into your reported issues.

(Given your feedback we have now reverted to the old version of the Device Manager on labsupdate.gpsgate.com, however downgrades are not possible).

Johan

Hi!

Thanks. I realize this may be my mistake. I missed the step 2 for the upgrade (Update Device Manager from labsupdate.gpsgate.com repository.). I only upgraded the core Patch.v4.

Sorry about this. I assume the inconsistent update is the cause of the problem.

Can you try to put back the updated Device Manager to labsupdate, and I will re-test.

Hi,
With patch.v4 v4.0.0.51, the commands on the right click menu are sorted correctly only when using the original names. Once the user switch to its own language (I have translated most of the commands' names to Spanish), the sorting is wrong (i.e. it keeps the sort according to original keys, not to translated values).
Thanks.

Short question about commands at all:

We have a few Trackers from the same type, they are all Teltonika xxx.

When creating a Command under this Teltonika xxx device, the command shows up on all vehicles/devices with that type of tracker. But, how to setup individual commands for individual vehicles. But all with the same type of trackerdevice?

For example: DigitalOutput1 on Vehicle1 is switching an Immobilizer, while DigitalOutput1 on another Vehicle2 is used to activate an Alarmbell, etc. So a generell Command "Stop Vehicle" is not working...

Ciao

@Machtl

To solve your problem you need to set up two commands and two device types.

Set up your commands
1. Go to Device tab in SiteAdmin and click on Commands in the left menu.
2. Create your two different commands. Make sure you have different names for them so you can distinguish them.

Set up your device types
1. Go to Device tab in SiteAdmin and click on Types in the left menu.
2. Select your device type from the list and click on the "New" button. This will make a copy of that device type.
3. Change the name for the new device type in the Create/Update section.
4. Under "Supported Commands" you can select which commands this device type should have access to. Select one of the commands that you created before.
5. Check that the device mapper template is correct for this device and scroll down and click on "Save".

Finishing up
1. Log in to VehicleTracker and right click on your vehicle and select "Edit User".
2. In the Device1 section, change the device type to the correct one that you created in SiteAdmin for both your vehicles.

Hope this helps

Niklas

@Alon

As of the latest Patch.v4 from beta.gpsgate.com, the commands are now correctly sorted by translated keys.
