GUIDE: Improved Track Filters
Track filters are used to remove faulty noisy GPS data, and to create "idle spots" and trips. But sometimes the filters are not suitable for the application. For example for slow moving vehicles/persons or for city driving.
It is now possible to change Track Filter for a Device Type. Here is how.
1. Make sure all plugins are up to date "green" under SiteAdmin -> Plugins
2. Create a new Device Type under SiteAdmin -> Devices -> Types. Select Track Filter.
"City Drive" for vehicles driving a round in a city with many turns.
"Slow Drive" for very slow moving vehicles, like farming machines.
"Air plane" for fast moving vehicles like air planes.
"Default" Long distance vehicles.
Now you have a new device type with a new track filter.
3. You can assign this Device Type to selected Devices in the applications.
When you switch device type with a new track filter, you need to reprocess tracks for that user for the change to take effect on historical data.
To reprocess old track data use the "Developer Tools".
(Make sure the "Developer Tools" plugin is up to date. Update from labsupdate.gpsgate.com)
