You can fetch positions from a GpsGate hosted or self hosted server using "SOAP Platform Kit". More info here:

This information is 4 years old, and has worked the same during that time.

If you have specific questions, please post NEW topics. And describe what you do, and what your problem is.

GpsGate Client is a program you install on your laptop. It is used to share a GPS connected to your laptop between multiple applications. You can also use it to send GPS data over a network, e.g. to GpsGate Server.

More info about GpsGate Client here:
http://gpsgate.com/products/gpsgate_client

GpsGate Client is not a plugin to GpsGate Server, it is a separate application.

Load into postgis?

<?php
// attempt a connection
$dbh = pg_connect("host=5.5.5.5 dbname=geoserver user=****");
if (!$dbh) {
die("Error in connection: " . pg_last_error());
}

// escape strings in input data
$lat = pg_escape_string($_REQUEST['latitude']);
$lon = pg_escape_string($_REQUEST['longitude']);
$kt = pg_escape_string($_REQUEST['speed']);
$unit = pg_escape_string($_REQUEST['username']);

// execute query
$sql = "UPDATE gpsreports SET lat = '$lat', lon = '$lon', speed = '$kt', the_geom = PointFromText('POINT(' || lon || ' ' || lat || ')',4326) where imeix = '$unit'";
$result = pg_query($dbh, $sql);
if (!$result) {
die("Error in SQL query: " . pg_last_error());
}

echo "Data successfully inserted!";

// free memory
pg_free_result($result);
// close connection
pg_close($dbh);

?>

Tony,
It appears that you are treating the HTTP Get as a REST web service correct?

My understanding of REST, is that ideally the HTTP Post verb should be used since intent is to update data as opposed to retrieving data.

I have trouble getting to step #3!
-------------

Please follow those steps to configure GpsGate.
1. Start GpsGate
2. Open the Settings dialog
3. Go to the Output tab

------------------

I have just installed GPSGate and updated the plugins.
I can't find the OUTPUT tab anywhere!!

I have logged into GpsGateServer/SiteAdmin/ and clicked on the Settings tab and I only see the options:
License
Localization
Scripts
Admin User
Email
SMS
Branding
Cleanup

And if I go to GpsGateServer/VehicleTracker I only see the following options when I click on Settings:
Marker style
Track visualization
Localization

Please help me find the output section!

Hi,

I'm new here. I have installed and I can track my android phone location using the GPS Gate Server and the GpsGate track installed on my phone.

I only want to get the latitude and longitude from GPS Gate server and send it to a Android App that I have been developing.

I know I can get my own location using the Android API but I'm using my phone only for testing it, in fact I want to use any vehicular GPS with GpsGate and send his coordinates to my Android App.

So I think this option "Send GPS data using HTTP" can help me if this give me a URL with the coordinates like the example of this post.

So, I have some questions:

- The option "GpsGate.com (Send)" exist in the actual version of GpsGate Server?

- The option "7. Set "Server" to your web server address E.g. www.myaddress.com" where you say www.myaddress.com is the website where has installed the GpsGate Server or this is a personal webservice?

Sorry for my poor english.
