Variable disappearing in Vehicle Panel

Wed Sep 26, 2012 11:41 pm

Hi,

We have a tracker that sends Analog=Fuel Level, and also sends Switch1=x for the engine on/off.

When tracker sends Analog value:
[2012-09-26 14:25:28] (200.95.171.133:55576/GpsGate/tcp) Client: $FRCMD,357464036297833,_SendMessage,,2042.9704,N,10327.6321,W,00.0,0.07,124.86,260912,192528.000,1,Analog1=0857.00*50[0x0D]
[2012-09-26 14:25:22] (200.95.171.133:55576/GpsGate/tcp) Connect

The value appears correctly on the vehicle panel.

Next if tracker sends Switch1=x:
[2012-09-26 14:25:28] (200.95.171.133:55576/GpsGate/tcp) Client: $FRCMD,357464036297833,_SendMessage,,2042.9704,N,10327.6321,W,00.0,0.07,124.86,260912,192528.000,1,Switch1=1*50[0x0D]
[2012-09-26 14:25:22] (200.95.171.133:55576/GpsGate/tcp) Connect

The Analog Value disappears from the vehicle panel.

can you fix this?

"The value appears correctly on the vehicle panel."

Please be more specific what you mean by "Vehicle Panel". It should not "disappear". Analog1 is a "save one changes" type.

Hi,

The analog value disappears after the tracker sends Switch1=X,
When the tracker sends Analog1="159.56", on the vehicle panel it appears "159.56".

Next the tracker sends Switch1=1, and on the vehicle panel instead of leaving the Analog value the same, it appears "-".

There was an issue related to this fixed in "2012-08-31 Patch.3275 v3.0.0.3520". It was yhe issue "Variable handling in Live Event Rules are now identical to reporting and track history."

More info:
topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=14084

If your Patch.3275 is not up to date, please update, and test again. If you still have problems, please post a screen dump of your event rule here.

I have updated the patch and the problem its still there.

I cant upload an image here. but the event rule its created like this:
Schedule: Always active.
Expressions: Fuel Level Greater than 0. Immediate event.
Notifications -> Text-> while active : [SIGNAL_FUEL_LEVEL], when ends: [SIGNAL_FUEL_LEVEL]

you can test it with SIMONE. send analog value, then send switch1=x, and the analog value will disappear.

The scenario you describe should work as you want it to work. I have also tested now to setup the "exact" same event rule, and sending messages as you describe and it works.

As mentioned in my first answer Analog1 is a "save one changes" type, and this flag, which you only can see in the database, is what makes it possible to only send up changes, as you do.

Still it does not work... this makes me think there has been changes to your database (?)

Updating Patch.3275 to v3.0.0.3574 should help you:
topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15007

It repairs some states in the database when "save one changes" information has been lost as in your case.

There is however one case unresolved when creating a new device type, and exporting / importing it to a new server. Did you do that?
