RE: Site visit report + mileage

OK. The thing here is that you are more interested in data outside POIs than data inside POIs.

You can create a new event rule called "Outside POI" which is true outside a POI (not inside). You configure this rule to have [POI_NAME] as the message when that event rule is true. This will create data rows that have the correct milage (between POIs). In the report SQL query, the column EventArgument will then have the name of the start POI and you can use the report layout function "next" (right-click a cell in the report layout view and go to functions) to get the name of the next POI.

So, you can customize the report layout:
Add a column "Start" and another column "Stop". The data row of the column Start contains [EventArgument] and the data row of the column Stop contains $next([EventArgument]).

Note that this will work if you use only POIs, or if you use only Geofences. You can not currently use both POIs and Geofences in the same report (or at least it will be very complicated getting the data right). You must also add a new group by vehicle in the layout in order to not accidentally mix trips of different vehicles when using the $next([EventArgument]) function.

HI,
it seem to be working fine, with the exception of the last row, end address. It is blank, any idea how to populate that ?

In the last row for the selected time period, the vehicle has not yet arrived to a POI so the information is correct (data was cut at the end of the period). There is currently no simple way to hide this single row, so you will have to just ignore it. At least it contains some data that could be useful (distance from the last POI at the end of the selected time period).

Hi Jonas,
even when i display data from yesterday or previous days i still don't get the end address on the last row, and the vehicle has returned at the parking lot, which is one of the POIs or Geofences. Is this possible ?

What about Trip & Idle (Detailed), is it possible to modify this report to only show rows with POIs as start/stop address and sum the rest of the rows ?

Select a whole week and see if the trip turns up as expected for a certain day within that week. For a single day there is no "next" data row to select the POI from.

For Trip & Idle (Detailed) it is more difficult since data rows are created with the Fatpoint data provider (when the vehicle stands still/is moving). There can be many such rows between POIs so the SQL will be quite difficult if at all possible.

Hi All,

We now have a need for a similar report, time and distance between geofences. Since this thread is older, I thought it worth asking if there have been any updates that will make this easier to accomplish.

Cheers,
Jay
