Windows CE .NET error message on Com autodetect

Tue Nov 25, 2008 6:30 pm

Hi,

The problem occurs on Windows CE .NET 5 (not Windows Mobile).
.NET Compact framework 3.5 is installed
I am using the last version of GpsToolsSDK for the .NET compact framework 2 (2.31)

When i put "0" to com port for auto detection:

Code: Select all

GpsToolsNET.NmeaParser parser = new GpsToolsNET.NmeaParser();
...
parser.ComPort = 0;
parser.BaudRate = 0;
parser.PortEnabled = true;
I have an annoying MessageBox saying:
"Win32 error", "The specified network or device is no longer available"

When i push ok, the detection goes well after that.

My problem is that i don't want this message to appear to the end user.

Thanks in advance for any help

It is most likely the auto detect feature that opens a COM port that displays this message. To avoid it you need to specify the COM port by number and not use auto detect.
