Defining a custom projection

I need to use a projection which has the following characteristics.
Projection: ALBERS
DATUM: NAD83
Spheroid: GRS1980
Xshift: 0.0
Yshift: 0.0
Parameters:
1st Standard Parallel: 34 00 00
2nd Standard Parallel: 40 30 00
Central Meridian: -120 00 00
Latitude of origin: 00 00 00
False easting (meters): 0
False northing (meters): -4000000

Would the following code definition seem right?
I am actually unsure about two parameters:
the Central Meridian and
the Algorithm

Dim CGRD As New GpsToolsNET.CustomGrid
CGRD.Datum = GpsToolsNET.Datum.NAD_83
CGRD.FalseEasting = 0
CGRD.FalseNorthing = -4000000
CGRD.LatitudeSP1 = 34.0
CGRD.LatitudeSP2 = 40.5
CGRD.LatitudeOfOrigin = 0.0
'Would this correspond to the "Central Meridian" parameter
CGRD.LongitudeOfOrigin = -120.0
'Is it necessary to define the algorithm, and if yes which one should be used?
CGRD.Algorithm = GpsToolsNET.Algorithm.OBLIQUE_MERCATOR

Albers projection is not included in GpsTools 2.20, we'll consider to include it in coming versions of GpsTools.

I need to customize a field acquisition application, and all the basemaps will be in Albers coordinates (with the parameters noted in my previous posting). I guess I will need to find a way to deal with that...

About this new release of GPStools:

1. Do you know the expected release date and
2. Will you include Albers coordinates?

Thanks

Don't expect a new GpsTools release anytime soon. And it is not 100% we'll include the Albers projection.

You will need to find another solution for this.

Johan,

I could use the Albers projection in GPS Tools as well. Any progress on adding it? Please provide an update on the possible availibitity of the Albers projection.

Cheers, Mike
