MGRS conversion to Latitude/Longitude

Thu May 12, 2005 10:57 pm

I was wondering if anyone would know how to convert a specific latitude/longitude to the MGRS coordinate system?
Thanks so much. [:I]

You can use the C/C++ library called GeoTrans from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).

It would be very nice if the MGRS functionality is incorporated into CoordTrans and/or GpsTools. [^]

You can convert MGRS to lat long and lat long to MGRS but the GEOTRANS software mentioned above works great if you want to install something on your computer for repeated use.

Does any one know whether Franson tools support conversion between MRGS to latitude/longitude and vice versa? Thanks.

has a .net dll for lat/lon to/from UTM, MRGS, and others.

Return to “CoordTrans”
