Newb question - import csv file

Mon May 03, 2010 2:09 am

Trying to batch convert between Degree Minutes and Decimal Degrees. CoordTrans works doing one by one, but in Batch mode no matter how I format the input CSV file, I either get wrong values or invalid format erros. Tried too many variations to list here; I must be doing something wrong with format of the file.

Assume I am trying to batch convert 119 degrees 36.896 minutes West longitude and 55 degrees 3.228 minutes North latitude. Can you give an example of what a CSV file should look like (when viewed in Notepad)? Dazed and confused on what should be so simple!

Thanks.

I've done this in the past and have had no problems. The CSV should probably look something like this:

"Long","Lat"
48.23,-78.23
48.65,-78.12

In CoordTrans you should be able to choose which field is what, and then specify the the proper transformation. Are you using this in 'Trial' mode?? You have to purchase the full version to be able to do batch mode.
