Asset tracker with battery lifetime > 30 days

Asset tracker with battery lifetime > 30 days

I think it is time to ask questions the other direction :-)

Anyone who has any experience on a quality "asset tracker. SMS/GPRS based" which has a battery life of more than 30 days. It should typically wake up once in a while, listen for SMS and reply back if there is a position request. Something in that direction.

Anyone with tips or experience?

Regards,
Johan

i do search for a device like this since months already without any useful output ...

would be really very interesting ... we have a few applications where this is needed as well.

the PT-35 makes some good offers ... but i do not like the cheap way starsnnav uses to extend the battery and the casing.

There is one called T-track Xs.. .they say:
"to power the unit for up to 3 months in Standby Mode or 30 days with standard use of 2-3 hours of tracking per day."

not sure, is the one I found.

Johan, Enfora claim for this product

http://www.enfora.com/index.cgi?CONTENT_ID=2360&User:LANGUAGE=en

up to three years or more of operation in ideal conditions.
I have seen the device when looking for a reliable avl manufacturer, but I have not experience with it, so I don't know how much of their claim is real or marketing stuff.

Bye
