RFID reader that works with Teltonika

Sat Feb 28, 2015 5:00 pm

Do you have any RFID reader that works with Teltonika and ggs? I tried using one that emulates 1wire, but it didn't work. Any ideea of a rs232/1wire RFID that might work with FM5300?
Thanks!

We used teltonika and mf7 rfid reader last year, it's easy to install, just in configurator set rs232 serial port as rfid input.

Great, thank you very much! Do you know how much power (ma) does the mf7 take? I read in the specs 150 mA which is pretty high I think.

As this reader has internal RFID antenna, so the normal power would be a bit more. You can connect it to the vehicle's battery. Voltage range is 6~18V. If the vehicle is heavy and the voltage is 24V, try to find a 12V power from fuse box, or around the vehicle'radio power.

Which 1-wire emulator did you use? We have used 1-Wire RFID Reader by ORMAT. It works.

I didn't use 1-wire, I used rs232 serial port, as I know you can not utilize 1-wire input as rfid input in tetonika devices, 1-wire input jsut uses for Ibutton reader.

Oh.. Ok.
As you said it supports only iButton on 1-wire. We used 1-wire RFID reader by ORMAT, which reads RFID tags & emulates the rfid as iButton on 1-wire. So, you can treat it as RFID. We get a packet "onchange" of iButton on teltonika.. so we treat that iButton as RFID tag.

We are using it with FM1202 also.. Cost effectively we built RFID enabled solution for in-vehicle attendance for schoolbus. Email me if you need the datasheet of that rfid reader. I couldn't share in post.
