Significant Inaccuracy

Wed Aug 12, 2009 9:26 pm

Hello,
I have been running a WAAS enabled Sierra Pinpoint 1X as a testbed and get consistent discrepancies of 200-350 ft most of the time. Is this common or is the unit I am using just that inaccurate?

Well, I think it might be GPSGate because I used AceView, which is one of Sierra wireless's utilities that provides a Google Map view of the units current location, to look at the units location. It showed the unit right exactly on the road and GPSGate showed it several hundred feet off the road. Any thoughts?

I thought I would attach a picture. The vehicle is on Hwy 195.

Okay, I am working on it. At this point the server is not exposed to public access but I will get our firewall modified to allow you in.
