AVL 901

Tue Jun 16, 2009 3:29 pm

Does anyone use gopass AVL 901 or 900 series ??

since 2 days .. like controlled by some force ... Almost all our devices are reporting "no GPS Fix"

installed in serval ways, serval cars, serval setups ...

but ONLY AVL90x series ... all other hardware works perfectly.

There was something with the calculation of the length of weeks that changed this Sunday.

I have only found a Swedish article about it so far:
http://www.idg.se/2.1085/1.235443/expert-varnar-for-gps-bugg-pa-sondag

(Translate it using Google Translation)

There are smaller things that happens to the GPS system over time, like leap seconds, additional satellites etc, which maybe not all GPS chipsets has considered.

Johan

We have a server side fix for this. It will be included in the next server release (next after 2.2.0.1697) or by request to us.

We have quite a lot of AVL900 units which are all working fine. They were all supplied after May 2009 this year.

While i'm on, does anyone know of a supplier for the GoPass AVL900 unit? We currently buy from a UK distributor but they are so expensive! We approached GoPass directly but they have a minimum order of 100 units.
