Generation VPort

i have tested the SerialTools.NET Solution for desktop usage. It works fine but can i show the virtual generated Port also in the device manager or where can i see them in my System? I would like to use it with a windows service, so how can i ensure, that my virtPort has always the same Number and is reserved only for my application. I have the impression that the port is only reserved so long the application is running. I need a reservation of a portnumber all the time, is this possible?

The VPorts are not listed in the device manager. They are only present whicle they are created in your application (or service). You find them listed under HKLM\Hardware\DeviceMap\SerialComm in the registry

You can manually make the port visible in the device manager (and thereby reserve the port) by following the instructions here:
