talk to the RS232 device remotely

Thu Dec 03, 2009 9:55 am

My C# application can talk to a device directly and polling for temperature, pressure and get log data form it. This is done using the serial port with the standard methods e.g port.write() and dataReceived etc...

Now I want to connect (from an analog modem) to the same device, -connected to a GPRS modem-, remotely.
Is it possible to get the COMport after the line is established with Serial tool? I'm asking this because I want to use the same methods as of used for the serial port, to avoid encode/decode of the data again which is due to the device specific protocol.
I got your trial code but can't find out how to realize my goals.
Please advice,
