BETA4: I/O Example

Mon Aug 04, 2008 7:42 pm

is there a small example out there how to handle/manage IO from devices ?

like how to add a unit, device mapping and finally show the events somewhere ?

its more about the background technolgy .. and handling in order to add own units/systems

i want to connect our SMS System .. as our units sending SOS SMS to our SMS server ...

somethings like "how to trigger Universal unit SOS using GPSGATE Protocol" ;-)

Yes, sure no problems. Take a look at the "GpsGate Server Protocol v2.0 PDF" found at the end of this page:
http://franson.com/gpsgateserver/download.asp

You should take a look at the "_SendMessage" command.

i play around alittle with this ... (honestly im gonna change now all prxys to use gpsgateprotocol ;-) )

however ....
after log on and send the command:

$FRCMD,,_SendMessage,Nmea,3*62

the server does not reply in the telenet session.
in the log apears then this

Code: Select all

2008-08-05 17:49:52.6327 | Info | 12 | Protocol.m_ExecuteCmd | FRCMD: $FRCMD,,_SendMessage,Nmea,3*62
 for |
and no reply at all anymore.

My misstake ;-)

i simply copy and paste the example ... wich has the Parameter 3 (for 3 messages) ;-)

it working now ...
2008-08-05 18:29:52.8046 | Info | 3 | GateEventWriter..ctor | New GateEvent = Channel = Name: SOS, Message =Save = True TrackPoint = , User = nullx8 MessageField = Franson.Message.MessageField |

is there something included already to visually show this events on the map ?

Hi,

events that you map to the channels "Alarm" and "SOS" show up as alarms in the alarm list. You can click on alarms to show them on the map.

Does this answer your question?

no and yes ;-)

honestly .. i personally do not have any use for this feature.
BUT 90% of all customer have after about 2 minutes they see the SOS Button on our Car or personal units the same phrase as question

" Does it Blink on the map if somebody press the SOS Button ?? "

this is something i try to get sortet out ...
seriously .. allmost all of the customer do ask for this.

i will check later the DB for this sort of ewents and let our SMS Server send out messages ... but besides this ... the "blinking on the map" is may not so bad idea after all .... a dispatcher could use this function as example to get aproovals from drivers.

or secure related deliverys where the dispatcher can see if Trunk is unlocked .. and and and ... almost unlimited application.

i would simply suggest to change the color of the vehicle-icon

like
- Blue = online and driving
- Gray = idle
- red = SOS ;-)

or so ...

i just figured out that only geotagged alarms trigger the alarm window ...
guess thats good enough ... my test before was alarms without location .. thats why they not trigger the alarm window.

somehow if i send a position and a Alarm using the _SendMessage command
it pops up 2 alarms ...

any idea ?

if leave the location no alarm.
if just location just the position is updated.

here a sample Log with real data:

Code: Select all

$FRLIN,IMEI,2100000009,*79
$FRSES,65111*4F
$FRVER,1,1,BLU-Proxy 1.0*4C
$FRVER,1,1,GpsGate Server 2.0.0.877*0B
$FRCMD,,_SendMessage,Nmea,2*63
$FRPOS,1332.9668,N,10016.8088,E,12,1,,040808,170319,*66
$FRVAL,SOS,1,,*31
$FRRET,nullx8,_SendMessage,Inline*21

Thanks for your report. We'll take a look at the dual alarm bug.
