Sentence not valid!

Thu Feb 14, 2008 5:32 am

Hello all .. i notice that devices using the TR102 Compatiblity Protocol have alot of problems.

as example for a TR-102 we have almost 50% of position packets getting droped.
the statement in the logfiles is "Sentence not valid!"

see here logfile example:

Code: Select all

If you take a look at the third field in the non valid sentences you see the number 1 rather than a higher value.

$355632004162660,1,1,140208,010409,E10039.6833,N1350.0250,10.6,0.67,59.07,03*37

This means that the position information is not updated, the TR-102 has no satellite contact. "Position not valid!" would maybe be a better message.

As you can see the position information is the same in the non valid sentence, as in the sentence set before that was valid.

yes .. a few hours after i asked here i got reply from globalsat support ...
with attached documentation. the TR-102 does just send the last known location.

i in general notice alot of issues with the TR-102, hopefully the 151 will be better.

thank you for the explaination anyway.

another thing, specialy the TR-102 does report regulary to the server.
is it maybe possible to update last seen ?
our old system did show the tracks and the ones without location in just another color.
so the customer can check if the device is alive. (well not so big issue)

thanks for the quick service
