Shared host - Install problem + Mobile

Fri Sep 14, 2007 11:37 pm

Hi,

First of all: thanks for the shared host option.

I tried to install it, everything goes fine but when I try to access the BuddyTracker application it doesn't work, but when I try to access the BuddyTracker page I get an error.

http://wouterdr.u32.gohsphere.com/Buddy ... /Home.aspx

[EDIT]: Everything works fine now. I enabled the error mode and saw that the script was searching after 'GpsGate.Online.dll' in the directory BuddyTracker/bin. Because that directory wasn't there I've put the file from the /bin directory also in /BuddyTracker/bin

And is it possible to point the GpsGateMobile software to such a server?

Thanks

Thanks

Wouter

Hi!
BuddyTracker/bin should not need to bee there. It would be very helpful if you please try to recreate the error with the <customErrors mode="Off" /> in web.config and post the error message, so we can fix this problem.

GpsGate mobile can't be used for position reporting on shared host installation right now. You need to report your positions through HTTP using gpsgate client or Sanav CT-24 device.

Hi,

http://d93469.u32.gohsphere.com/BuddyTracker/Home.aspx

Login: tester
pass: test

After login the error apears.

Will there be in the future a mobile client that works with shared hosting and is there an ETA? Or is there a similar J2ME application that will work.

Thanks!
I have recreated the problem here to. A quick fix is (as you did) is to put GpsGate.online.dll in BuddyTracker/bin/ and VehicleTracker/bin

I did a test this afternoon and everything works fine. Only problem is that I now has to run GPSGate to transfer the data from gpsgate.com tot my own installation, so I hope there will be also a mobile version (or maybe someone of the forum could make sutch a program, I could pay, no problem ;))

If anyone wants to write a client that support GpsGate Server's http protocol, please take a look at this page which describes the protocol:
http://franson.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5637

Please feel free to develop applications that sends and receives position data from GpsGate.com (and GpsGate Server).

So Franson will not release a mobile version for this shared host solution?

Yes, we will do that. But we also encourage people (developers) to build their own clients. We will provide some features, and others might provide other features.
