Scaling with Azure or AWS

Fri Nov 30, 2018 4:53 pm

Hi,

Has anyone tried scaling the GpsGate server with AWS or Azure?

What has been your experience of the scaling ?

My specific requirement is to understand cost of scaling the one instance to 10,000+ units.

For 10.000+ systems you should go for AWS.

Contact support for details.

Project is initially strting with 1,150 deployments. And will scale from there. Our current setup allows us to deploy about 800 devices /server and we usually keep at 60% resource utlization, allowing enough resource for later advancements.

I want to go with the AWS but M skeptical on costing given the volumes at scale. Our current cost is very lower and need to take informed decision based on cost comparison.

Current setup: difficult to manage as it scales. known cost and under control.
AWS setup: easy to manage as it scales. unknown cost and irreversible cost not in control.

Any ideas ?
