Random lines linking track point after GGS update

Mon May 07, 2018 11:32 am

I’ve noticed only friday that the same identical problem described on the forum post here, is affecting all the tracks generated with Teltonika FM1100 (Firmware Ver.01.11.07.Rev.05) that are now unusable because random lines are linking track points.

I’m using GGS updated to the latest version. In particular, I’ve noticed the following:

1) All tracks that now have the problem, were always displayed correctly before GGS update.

2) All tracks prior to 17/10/2017 are affected by this problem, and random lines are displayed on the route, or the route is not drawn at all.

3) Tracks from 16/11/2017 onwards, are not affected by this problem.

4) From 18/10/2017 to 15/11/2017 no data has been generated and no information is available.

5) There are so many lines added at random, that the tracks are unusable and the problem is much worse than what shown on the images shown on the linked forum post.

6) If you try to view an intermediate trip using "Trip View" or "TR1000 Trip & Idle (Detailed)" or "TR2001 Trip & Idle (Detailed)" reports, the trip will never be displayed.

7) The "AlwaysValid" plugin has never been installed.

8 ) "Static navigation" has always been enabled in the Teltonika firmware.

9) Old tracks generated with an Intellitrac A1 from 2013 to 2014 do not present any problems.

Do you have any updates about this ?

Trying to investigate the problem further, I’ve restored an old backup version (dating back to 22/11/2017), with the following components:

Google Maps 4.0.0.5445
Teltonika 5.0.0.974
Terminal 4.0.0.5868
Updates.v5 5.0.0.807
Core 5.0.0.53

With this version the problem doesn't exist, and all the tracks are perfectly rendered.

This is how a track appears now:

... and this is how the very same track was before (image taken from the backup I was speaking above)

Contact support, and we will send you information on how to store Terminal data to file, that we later can analyze.

If you are using the new scripting engine together with RouteMessage, please turn off the new scripting engine to see if that solves the issue.

You tunr it off under Settings -> Script in SiteAdmin. Default it is off. You must have actively turned it on.

Hi, sorry for the delay contacting support, I’m going to do this asap.

Yesterday I’ve done the following tests starting from the november backup:

Update Windows server + .Net + Java + Mysql Server + Mysql Connector to the latest versions: the track are correctly shown on screen.

If starting from the updated server above I upgrade GGS to the latest version available today, then the tracks start to show the random line issue.

The new scripting engine has always been disabled: if I enable it the problem is the same, if I disable it again, the problem is always the same.

To clarify: when I first noticed the problem, the version of GGS installed was probably a version released on march, I don't know exactly. The upgrade to the latest version available was done to try to fix the tracks problem.
