Issues editing name on existing vehicle and updating GPSgate

Tue Apr 03, 2018 5:11 pm

Hello,

My department is trying to edit a vehicle name to change it to an on-duty officer's badge number. When attempting to edit the name, we get the error message of "Error Saving User. A user with the same Driver ID - xxxxx - already exists."

xxxxx- is the username we share at our department. We have never had this issue before.

Also -once I log in as the administrator, I noticed an error message of "An important update failed! Updating to the latest version of Updates.v6 or core did not complete successfully. Please check your error logs for more information and contact GPSGate support."

Please see the attached document for the error log.

Guess the problem is related to auto-fill of the driver-id field when editing a user/vehicle. Very annoying. Problem is introduced in march 2018 (perhaps earlier).

I assume you use Chrome.

The AutoFill feature in Chrome is causing this problem. It has changed since the latest Chrome update from Google.

To resolve the issue you can either:

* Update all plugins under beta.gpsgate.com (Note it is BETA!)
* Wait to the April 19th Release, and then update all plugins from update.gpsgate.com
* Use another browser. Not Chrome.
* Turn off AutoFill in Chrome.
Regards,
Johan
