Wrap Text In A Column

Fri Feb 05, 2016 8:47 pm

Hi All,

Is there a way to fix the width of a column so that in the report, the text will wrap? I tried setting a fixed column width for the column, but the text still prints in a long single line. I looked at the options for the row and the individual field but didn't see any way to get the text to wrap.

Cheers,
Jay

Hi,
You can wrap the data in the cell into a HTML div element and apply your custom styling.
Note: When having HTML content in a cell you have to right click the cell -> select options -> select "Contains HTML"

e.g:
<div style="width:40px;white-space:normal">[StartAddress]</div>

Hi Bjorn,

Thank you for the instructions on setting a column width. I have implemented them and it works fine when viewing the report as HTML inside the GpsGate application. However, when I E-mailed an HTML format report, the <div> tag did not work and the text displayed in the E-mail as a long single line. Adding the <div> tag also caused an error when I tried to create the report in a PDF format.

Thanks for your assistance.

Regards,
Jay
