Hello,

Upon sending new dispatched job to Mobile web, I need to do re-login process to received the notification. Is there a way, the notification is shown directly upon dispatched sent from the Server? Is it possible to create a sound alarm to alert the Mobile worker too?

Thanks

@m1Gps

Do you mean that in order to see your jobs in the mobile web UI you need to be logged in to the page? Or is the mobile web UI logging you out every time you get a new notification?

The first is by design but the second would be a new bug! Please let us know.

Currently it is not possible to either vibrate or play a sound alarm if you do not have a browser tab open and visible on any of the mobile browsers. This is due to the design of the browser and we can sadly do nothing about this until they add the feature. We will be adding vibration on new job functionality in the next release of mobile however, so if you do have the page running this should help you out.

All this being said, if you are dispatching a job to a GpsGate Tracker Android worker they will get full Android push notifications with deep linking into their job when the job is dispatched. This is the ideal scenario when using Mobile Dispatch so we would encourage you to try it out.

Andrew

Hi,

Sorry for my unclear posting. Here is what I mean,

1. I login to the mobile web.
2. I then created a new job and dispatched it.
3. I can't see the notification for this new job in the Mobile web.
4. I then logout and login again, the new job notification is shown.

In this case, the mobile workers may not able to receive an immediate job alert although they open the Mobile web all the time.

Good points are all responses from the Mobile web to the Server were immediately shown in the VT, like Complete message and etc.

Regards

@m1Gps

It looks like there are some cases when the view is not updated as it should be. We will investigate further and look to include fixes for this in the next release. You should expect to see all jobs in your list synchronise in near real-time in the same way they do in the desktop site.

Andrew

We have a new release of the Dispatch plugin today containing some features and fixes.

Features
You can now click and follow an Android dispatch notification into the Mobile site even if you are currently logged out.Notifications can now cause a vibration alert on supported browsers. This can be configured in the new settings page (Note: If you do not see vibration appear here, your device unfortunately does not support the Vibrate from browser feature).
Fixes
Occasionally missing title in Dispatch plugin fixed.'Start and route' and 'route' buttons being blocked by iOS popup blocker fixed.Notifications for Dispatch will now arrive more reliably, clearly indicate whether they are new or previously viewed and remember their state between sessions.Following a notification to a deleted job will now inform the user that this is the case.

Note that release also requires you to update your Mobile plugin to the version that was also released today. (4.0.0.1906)

Hi,

Tested the beta and it seems that the sort/distance functionality is missing in the create dispatch job window.

Hi Johan,

We made some optimisation tweaks in that area and must have missed that one. Great catch, thanks. If you update again it should be back.

Is there some fare calculation mechanism in dispatch module? If not, any plans for it in near future?
Thanks

Hi GpsGate

Some more findings in the latest dispatch version.

Bugs
- Send all dispatch jobs to a device will only send the first one and always fails on the second (Even when device is online).

- Dispatch more than one job when device is disconnected and send them automatic when device is connected (Limitation to only keep one command in que that locks the gui).

- Delete dispatch jobs leaves the job marker on map.

Nice features to have
- Send dispatch order (priority) value to the client when change (Move dispatch jobs up and down in the list).

- The ability to send a delete dispatch job command to the client and maybe also from the client to the server.
- Configure job start date and time and job end date and time as optional parameters.

- Make it possible to resend dispatch to same or another device (Will send a delete to the assign device).

- Send schedule on dispatch jobs so the operator can add dispatch jobs in the future and the job is sent automatic on a configured time and date (Property on dispatch job).

- Send update messages from device to server with information like distance/eta to job location so operator can see the current dispatch statistics.

Regards Johan

Hello Andrew,

Are you plan to implement/improve the suggestions from Johan above soon ?

We are also interested of below points:

- Send update messages from device to server with information like distance/eta to job location so operator can see the current dispatch statistics.

- Send all dispatch jobs to a device will only send the first one and always fails on the second (Even when device is online).

- Dispatch more than one job when device is disconnected and send them automatic when device is connected (Limitation to only keep one command in que that locks the gui).

- Same as Dispatch in "Chat" we are able to send only one message as pending (when the device is disconnected) - using template commands - it would be nice if GGS can store more than one messages as pending in queue and send all when the tracker is online (send data to the server) again.
Thank you.

Regards,
John

Hi John,

Defining "soon" can be a contentious issue in software developement, but yes, these are problems that we are working now on addressing!

The job dispatch failing issues will be solved in an upcoming release.

We agree that being able to queue template based commands in general is a powerful feature that should be available.

The bug with the job markers not being removed will be fixed in an upcoming release.

The suggestions from the nice features to have section have been added to our future feature suggestions list and will be considered when scheduling future development but the above issues will be fixed, soon.

Regards,
Andrew

@Walle7173

If you have the time could you please update to the latest Mobile and Dispatch plugin on beta, try to reproduce your issue with dispatch job markers staying on the map after deletion and give me some steps to reproduce the issue.

We have changed the way markers are updated recently and I want to make sure that these changes solve this problem in all cases.

Thanks.

Andrew
