RE: FEATURE: Mobile (major update).

@limyo
Track drawing is something that will gain more and more features over time as we develop it.
Could you elaborate on what you mean by free command? Right now it is possible to send most any command with the mobile site if you create a custom command that is a copy of an existing command. This will let you specify the parameters of the command and the transport type using the SiteAdmin pages with their full functioned command editor and then execute the command on a mobile device with a couple of taps. We are intentionally trying to keep the mobile site free from things that provide a frustrating user experience on mobile devices like complex configuration and inputting of special character filled text.

@machtl
Clustering can be switched on and off in the settings menu if you would like. The track drawing and commands are both not displayed if the user logging in does not have the privileges to either draw a track or send commands respectively, so can be removed from a worker's UI in this way. Is there anything else you had in mind to have settings for?

Andrew

What I mean free command is like desktop browser that can type any command in Terminal and can send through TCP or SMS.

Thanks

@limyo
It would definitely be worth looking into creating a set of custom commands in SiteAdmin that represent the commands that you would most often type into the terminal. Sort of like "bookmarks" in a browser.

@GPS2014
We don't have a date for that at the moment but most likely during February's release period. It's important that we make sure that the features are mature and tested enough before releasing to production servers!

Hello,

Thanks to GGS team on the mobile draw track feature.

I would to feedback on the track orange color scheme as it is similar to Google map road color. When we zoom in to view the detail, we can't differentiate both identity easily. Hope there is changed or a selection available.

Regards

Yes, that track color was an unlucky choice for Google maps. It will be changed in the next release!

...which is now available on the beta repository. This build introduces historical track drawing and fixes some issues reported since the last feature release.

Features
Track Drawing: The track drawing feature now allows you to draw historical tracks for your vehicles on the map.

Use the date selector in the Tracks area of your vehicles to get information on the tracks recorded for that day. Click the 'Draw' button to draw them on the map.
Fixes
Executing a command will now clearly show the one specific command as running in the UI instead of implying that all commands have been executedThe track drawing colour has been changed to stand out more against Google Maps' various road coloursTracks are now slightly transparent to allow easier reading of map labels while tracks are drawn

Please keep the feedback coming!

Andrew

Thanks, it looks much better now.
Is it possible to add the route direction on the map? (i.e. the small arrows signifying if the vehicle moved along the route from north to south, or the other way).

More fully featured markers are on our list and are something that we are looking at implementing in a future release.

Do you mean the direction arrows on the drawn track itself? The end of the track is currently indicated by a checkered flag.

GpsGate Server is free for the first 5 users, so if you want to try new beta plugin versions as they are released to evaluate their stability or new features, you can run a test server on your own computer with very little effort required.

This way you can really see how the updates relate to you and your particular business use cases.

It looks quite similar across the different mobile devices but here are some screenshots of the general UI.

I will leave it up to others to give feedback on the new features.

When you will fix animations perfomance for mobile app?
I use iPhone5S and all animations are very slow and buggy (map disappears, left side buttons errors etc)

For now, there is no possibility to use this appliacation by my clients.

Maybe slow down with new features and fix bugs firstly? So we can use this application in production?

We have a performance improvement plan in the works yes. Not sure what you mean by map disappears? Is it not only first time you start up and might have to click the "load map" on a slow network?

Are you running IOS7 or 8? If you're on IOS7 you could try running from the home-screen, should be less resizing then. Safari on IOS8 is odd in that it somehow always tries to hide/show the browser buttons much more than in the previous version, which causes "jumpiness" :( We're trying to improve this.
You could also try the Chrome browser and see if it "feels" better for you (we'll strive to make Safari work fine of course!)

in the latest betas the vehiclelist on the right side shows up on our android phones only after pressing 3 to 4 times on the vehiclelist button. :-(
