Can not add custom fields to user type

I am not able to add new custom fields to existing user types. Newly added custom fields show up in the details pane of existing user types, but when selected as visible and saved, the visible checkmark is gone when the user type is re-opened.

This is the procedure I use to recreate the problem:

1. Open "Manage custom fields"
2. Add Field of text type named "ID", then Save
3. Open User type Editor
- Select existing User Type named "User"
- Open Details pane. Check "Visible" checkmark for new field
- Save the user type. Message is shown "Data has been successfully saved"
4. Re-open User Type Editor, select same user type "User".
- The visible checkmark is now not checked

I have all the latest plugins installed

Any ideas?

I cannot repeat this locally.

"User" is a user type you created yourself before creating the custom field right?
What happens if you create a new user type now? Still the same issue?
Of course it should work in both scenarios but I am just trying to find the exact way to repeat the problem.

Are you doing this on an upgraded application? Try creating a new application and see if you get the same issue there.
Also, try adding the custom field to one of the basic user types such as "Device", do you get the same issue?

The issue is only observed when adding a newly created custom field to an existing user type. If I create a new user type, the custom field is visible. The issue is so far only observed in one specific application.

If it works when creating a new user type, I will not spend more time chasing this. If you wish to look into this, you can get access to our server.
