Template Commands - device password

Mon Feb 15, 2010 6:26 pm

In the administration page of gpsgate at the template command page, are printed examples of command parameters, for example :

Variables to be used in Template. A template like "$[DeviceIMEI],3,9" will result in a command like "$35930200541954114,3,9". Variables should be enclosed by brackets [].

Server parameters:
[SmsProxyPhoneNumber] Phone number to GpsGate Server SMS
[ProtocolHostname] Server address.
[ProtocolIPAddress] Server IP address
[ProtocolPortTcp] Server TCP port.
[ProtocolPortUdp] Server TCP port.

Device parameters:
[DeviceImei] The IMEI of the device.
[DevicePhoneNumber] Phone number of device.
[Transport] Transport device should use. e.g. "tcp"

GPRS network parameters:
[GprsApn] APN for GPRS network deslected for device.
[GprsUsername] GPRS username.
[GprsPassword] GPRS password
[GprsDns1] GPRS DNS
[GprsDns2] GPRS DNS backup

Variables from Track Recorder:
[TimeFilter] Suggested update interval for tracking. In seconds
[SmsTimeFilter] Suggested update interval for SMS tracking. In seconds
[DistanceFilter] Suggested distance interval for tracking. In meters
[DirectionFilter] Suggested heading change for tracking. In degrees
[Motion] "1" for suggested motion based tracking. Else "0".

in my tracker TK102, for send command to the tracker is needed a password, ( the 123456 default password of tracker for example ), my question is, wich is the internal variabile of gpsgate program to add the password of device to template command ?

Thanks

There is currently no variable for [DevicePassword]. You need to use the same password for all trackers, and write the password into your Template command.

We will improve this in coming versions of GpsGate Server.

.. "There is currently no variable for [DevicePassword]" ..

Any news about this issue? This would really be a great feature.

There is indeed a variable [DevicePassword] since many years back.

Have you tested?

Ok, it works fine.

It turned out that 'device_password' was Null for the device I picked for the test.
What are the odds!

It seems that the [DevicePassword] variable only works with custom passwords. If the device is set to use the default password, the field is left blank.

Good Day,

I don't see where you have to enter the password for the device/variable: [DevicePassword].

Can you guide me to the section that contains it?
Trying to be the best possible me.
