Detailed distance report problem

Mon Jan 11, 2010 5:58 pm

Hi,

We have a problem with detailed distance report. We use GPSGateServer 2.3.0.1944 with MS SQL 2005 as database. Installation was OK and so far tracking works OK and also we can get distance report. But when we try to start detailed distance report we get error:

Server Error in '/GPSGATESERVER' Application.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Request timed out.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.Web.HttpException: Request timed out.

Source Error:

An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below.

Stack Trace:

[HttpException (0x80004005): Request timed out.]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.1433; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.1433

How can we find out why this happens?

Problem was Reverse Geocoder lookup, that timed out. Disabled it and it works ok now.

Actual problem that we had is that we go to internet through proxy, and our GpsGateServer tries to contact google directly whenever trying reverse geocoding (detailed distance report, mobile vt).

Jonas suggested that we put in <App>\IIS\Web.config file specification of proxy like this

<configuration>
<system.net>
<defaultProxy>
<proxy
proxyaddress = "http://proxyserver:80"
bypassonlocal = "true" />
</defaultProxy>
</system.net>
</configuration>

This solved the problem!

Thanks Jonas
