I'd like to use GPSGate Splitter for programs, which do not support windows location API but require to receive data from a COM port. So I set up GPSGate to use Windows Location API and output its data to a virtual COM port. GPSGate indicates, that it receives data (symbol also turns green) for a few seconds, so configuration seems to be fine.
The problem is, that this COM port is not accessible (i.e. Virtual COM port is not on the list of available COM ports or (if a program does not query available ports) it just does not receive data). Is this a known problem? Might it be specific for Windows 10 (rights management, ...)?
What is a valid setting for the baud rate of the virtual COM port?
Does GPSGate provide a constant stream, although Windows Location API might not?
Thank you very much for your help
