GPSGate 2.6 client won't start on VISTA

Mon Jul 29, 2013 4:56 am

My computer runs VISTA and belonged to my daughter who gave it to me. It had GPSGate 2.6 installed, but clicking on the logo on the desktop caused nothing to happen. I thought this was because I had not paid for an installation key, so I bought one. No way to enter it as nothing would start. Removed Franson GPSGate 2.6 from my computer and reloaded it. Same problem it wont start and it also still seems know about the deleted version as it offers me the opportunity to repair it. How can I wipe out all elements of the original installation and start over again? Hopefully this will resolve my problem. Thanks, Floyd

Have you tried to run the program from the "Start-All programs" option rather than the desktop icon. Presumably you deleted the software through the "Control Panel-add/remove programs" option. All your user selections are stored in the C:/Gpsgate folder. If you enter the sub folders you can delete anything you added such as virtual com port selections, etc. Maybe it helps.
