GPSGate client as service on win 7

Wed Feb 13, 2013 2:42 am

The support docs indicates that running the GPSGate client as a service is only available on Windows NT, 2000 and XP.
We have several hundred licences of GPSGate client and we are now moving to Win 7.
Testing seems to indicate that the virtual ports do not show up correctly under Win 7 when running the client as a service. Things work well when directly running the GPSGate client on Win 7, and all the virtual ports are visible.
Is there any tricks in getting the GPSGate client as a service running under win 7 ?

Configure GpsGate to use shared settings:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Franson\GpsGate
DWORD: UseSharedSettings = 1
