GpsGate as Service

Fri Nov 13, 2009 9:37 pm

When you run GpsGate client as a Service, does the service interact with the desktop via the system taskbar GpsGate icon (changing color for fix status, etc.)? Are settigs still modifable (different input port, different output ports, etc.) through the Settings menu item of the GpsGate system tray icon when ran as a service as long as the service is restarted to take into effect?

You need to run GpsGate normally to configure it. Make sure "Share settings for all user accounts" is ticked (Advanced menu). Then exit & start GpsGate as service. It will then re-start automatically on boot.

Is there plans for desktop interaction in future releases?
