Service record handler retruns zero

Tue Nov 18, 2008 3:19 pm

Hi,

we are evaluating bluetools SDK for our new application which would be build around widcomm stack .

We need to know the model number like nokia 3230 etc of the remote device . We were planning to achieve the same using service record handle and channels.

But sometimes value of service record handle is coming as zero.

please let us know if there is any other way to obtain the model number of the remote device.

any help would be much appreciated !!!

Anil

I don't know of any way to determine the model number of a cell phone through bluetooth.

Hi Jonas,

Thanks for reply . We can find out model number using service record handle and channel numbers . But we are not getting service record handler in widcom stack.

Is this the known issue with Bluetools or we are doing something wrong?

I don't know.
Maybe it's a bug in the Widcomm stack or maybe the phone isn't responding a compatible service record.

Jonas
