And now, after a few times running that new working copy, it no longer works. Nothing in code changed, all I did was run it a bunch of times.

Could using the debugger to stop the program cause the dll to freak out? I would think anything left in memory causing issues would fix itself with a reboot though, which does not work.

Try hard resetting the device to ensure that you are in fact loading the same DLLs in both cases.
A missing Parent = this; could also account for these strange issues as you wouldn't be invoking the event handler in the correct thread. Though you have set it to Main in your code above so I assume i.e. tsddBTDevices is in this form?

The fact that it stops working after a few runs point to a thread issue though as a faulty event handler would sometimes not fire.
