extra features for Franson.Protocols.SMS

Thu Apr 20, 2006 3:30 pm

Hi

I am studying the SMSManagerCF example from Franson.Bluetools (Franson.Protocols.SMS.dll).
It works ok, but I would like to know more about two posible extra features:

1) Is it compulsory to connect by Bluetooth to one device previous to send a sms? Why? I would be interesting to be enabled to send a sms without any bluetooth connection to devices.

2) Is it possible to send the sms to a specific port. For example, in J2ME (Java Micro Edition) you can do:
Connector.open("sms://+34606666666") , sms to user
Connector.open("sms://+34606666666:50001") , sms to application listens in port 50001 in the receiver mobile phone.
If not, would it be possible to implement this new feature in the next version of Franson.Bluetools?

Thanks in advance.
Regards.

Hi.
Responding to my own.

Finally I understand the library Franson.Protocols.SMS.
It is necessary to make the Bluetooth connection to a extra device (mobile phone) because it is this extra device which sends the sms. The library Franson.Protocols.SMS controls the extra device sending AT commands over the bluetooth serial port connection.

Forget my previous message.
Regards.
