OpenNETCF serial Port and BlueTools

Mon Mar 27, 2006 3:21 pm

Is it possible to use BlueTools to simply discover devices, bond and connect (SPP profile - serial port) - and then use OpenNETCF serial port as our connection stream?

Problem is we already have an OpenNETCF based application, and would rather not want to change the existing code.

We have the BTConnect program as a seperate program, which performs the search, bonding and connecting, and simply reports a serial port (eg COM7) back to the main program, which then may use it.

Is it possible to use BlueTools in this way?

If you are asking if you can connect to the discovered serial port service as it was a COM port, using the Win32 APIs for accessing COM ports (which are wrapped by OpenNetCF) the answer is no.

If you are asking if you can access the serial port service as a :NET Stream object, the answer is yes.

If you are asking something else, you need to clarify your question.
