Obex protocol

Tue Feb 14, 2006 4:37 pm

Why Obex protocol is not supported? Why there is support for higher level protocols such Obex FTP Client, and there is no support for Obex?

What are you referring to with "Obex"?
There is support for both Obex FTP and Object Push in BlueTools.

I mean Generic Obex Protocol. I would like to build my own service on Obex protocol.

Generic Obex protocol? Do you mean you want to build an Obex server and want the interface complete so you can just select server->Respond(OK) when you get a Connect message?

Our Obex FTP Client and Object Push implementations were created since most people only want to use Obex to transfer files back and forth. By implementing them anyone can have Object Push support in their applications, without needing to know actually how Obex works. In the future we might implement an Obex server too, if there is a demand for it.

Until then, if you want to make your own Obex server you can build your own class and respond and transfer commands over a Stream. You can find the Obex reference manual at http://www.irda.org/ or possibly somewhere else on the Internet.
