Manager.GetManager

Thu Nov 03, 2005 12:16 am

I am using a Belkin PCMCIA bluetooth device. It uses the WIDCOMM stack. However when I run the FindAndConnectVB sample, Manager.GetManager returns a Microsoft stack not a widcomm stack. Hence no devices are found. How do I fix this?

First of all make sure you have the latest version of BlueTools installed.

As a second step check which driver is installed for your BlueTooth hardware. You do that by following those steps:

1. Open the Control Panel
2. Double click on "System"
3. Select the "Hardware" tab
4. Click on "Device Manager"
5. Right click on your Bluetooth device and select "Properties"
6. Click on the "Driver" tab.

There you can read which driver software is installed for your hardware.

What is the "Driver Provider", "Driver Date" and "Driver Version" you can read there?

BlueTools required 1.4.2.10 or later on Windows and 1.4.1.60 on Windows CE / Pocket PC.

You can get an updated driver by Belkin.
