Multiple COM connections problem

Thu Jul 28, 2005 7:31 pm

Hi, I installed GPSGate on my Pocket PC with the intention of evaluating two GPS (Third party) applications at the same time. The input is Com 6 (bluetooth). Output is virtual port COM7. The first app connects fine. The second app runs for 10 seconds and then loses the connection with COM7. Both apps run fine using COM 6 or 7 if they run individually. Any ideas?

I am using GPSView, an app that comes with the Bluetooth GPS and GPS.NET for PocketPC, an application viewing the satellite constellations.

I need exact names, and if possible download links, to the applications to be able to do any testing.

You could also try to create separate virtual ports for each application and see if it works better.

OK, I will e-mail you the applications. I cannot create another virtual port. The reasons is that GPSgate only provides two options: COM7 and COM0. COM0 is not detected/supported by any of the applications.
