RE: ServiceStream.BeginRead problem

No, it should run very fine on .NET 2.0 and Visual Studio 2005.
I have no solution for you, I've never seen the error before.

I've never seen that error before.
What version of Visual Studio are you running and what .NET version?

RE: ServiceStream.BeginRead problem

You are getting this error because the stream is closed, simple as that. But I don't quite understand what you are trying to do here. You are executing the ObjectPush sample on the remote device and then you try to connect to it with the FindAndConnect sample? On that same service? That won't work s...

RE: Using both Widcomm and Microsoft Stack

1. You can do active bluetooth pairing, that is you can request to pair with a device and complete it, but you cannot respond to a device requesting pairing with you.

2. No, that requires SCO streams and those are not supported by BlueTools.

RE: DiscoverDevices - no name returned

Perhaps the name is cached on one computer, and not on the other.
Otherwise I don't know.

RE: DiscoverDevices - no name returned

If the connect always fails I guess the device simply isn't giving the name during the discovery process.

RE: ServiceStream.BeginRead problem

The only problem would be that your device isn't sending any data, as the callback should fire once some data appears on the Stream.

RE: Add a Service on my application

I don't understand the question.
If you create a service that the remote client application can understand it will find it.

However, for Obex there is very limited support (especially for the Microsoft stack) due to some strange bugs in the MS stack.

RE: ServiceStream.BeginRead problem

There's nothing coming in on the Stream?
Or are you still getting the error from your first post?

RE: how to abort service discovery?

If you are scanning one hundred devices you are lucky that it only takes five minutes to return ;)
You can abort the device discovery, but you cannot abort the service discovery.

RE: how to abort service discovery?

How to you send this message? Bluetooth technology isn't meant to be used to send general broadcasts like you suggest. One major problem that you'll encounter soon enough is that you aren't allowed to connect to a remote device without first bonding with the device.

RE: ServiceStream.BeginRead problem

What do you mean with, when you close the service? If you have closed the Stream it's no wonder that it says Service not open, yes?

Not that I know of.
Basically, declining is simply shutting down the Stream so..
