RE: FEATURE: Garmin Android Platform

Hi GPS2014

The new Android Garmin devices do not have a sim slot and just contain Wifi and bluetooth hardware. They are designed to be connected to a WiFi network for their internet connectivity. A mobile hotspot created by another mobile device works well.

Andrew

RE: FEATURE: Mobile (major update).

Hi GRACO

Which version of Safari and which version of iOS is this customer using? We do not support some of the much older versions of iOS as the new release of the mobile plugin uses a lot of very modern browser features.

Regards,
Andrew

RE: Android App - Pooled disconnects

Hello webo. Pooled disconnects from the GpsGate Tracker app shouldn't be something to worry very much about in general. There can be lots of factors that cause your connection to the server to be closed such as switching from wifi to mobile data, moving in and out of signal, switching from 2g to 3g ...

RE: FEATURE: Android device tracking

@GRACO Currently the app is very transparent about when location information is both being tracked and being uploaded to the server. We don't want to add functionality that could potentially allow a person's phone to be tracked whilst implying to them in the UI (GPS Tracking unchecked) that it is no...

RE: FEATURE: Dispatch for Mobile

Hi John, When you dispatch a job and have the GpsGate Tracker app installed and connected to the GpsGate Server from an Android device that is set up as an Android device type on the server the device will get a Android notification about the job. This is a system level event so will arrive and be d...

RE: FEATURE: Mobile (major update).

Ah, that is a great find Smolic. Thanks for the update. That browser has a lot of device specific problems on different phones but that explains why I cannot reproduce your bug. I shall look into that browser. We frequently test performance on Android devices from flagship smartphones to little 30 e...

RE: FEATURE: Mobile (major update).

@guytracker It's a good check to perform after each beta update if you have issues. That being said, we know it can be tiresome to need to do this so often. Our new mobile site uses some new browser technologies to try to improve performance and responsiveness especially in low bandwidth situations....

@guytracker

RE: FEATURE: Mobile (major update).

@Smolic

We will look into this bug. Does clearing the cache on the mobile browsers help with this?

@piter197

I will look at improving this workflow for the next beta release.

Andrew

RE: FEATURE: Android device tracking

@Alon The battery voltage is a signal that quite literally sends the battery voltage of the device's battery (if it is made available by the device) to the server when the device broadcasts a change in it's value. It is not guaranteed to be made available by a device so not all devices will send it....

RE: FEATURE: Mobile (major update).

@Alon I should likely have been more specific in the description. A quick right swipe on any individual alert in the Alerts section of the vehicle information tab should move it to the side and expose a close button. If this does not work, could you please send a support ticket containing informatio...

RE: FEATURE: Dispatch for Mobile

@m1Gps The Android client is part of the dispatch work flow but is technically separate from the mobile web plugin. It is a way of being alerted about a new job when the user has the browser closed or the phone screen shut off. The user can then click the notification and link directly into the deta...
