RE: EXCEL VBA GET COORDINATES FROM GPS

Also, is -2 the proper setting for your objParser.ComPort??

-1 is for GpsGate, otherwise I think it should just be the number of your connected COM port....ie. 2

RE: EXCEL VBA GET COORDINATES FROM GPS

At what point in your code does it skip down to the errhandler? Perhaps your code hasn't got to the point where it creates the objParser and that is why it crashes in the error handler.

RE: EXCEL VBA GET COORDINATES FROM GPS

Yes. In that bit of code, I am populating txtEasting and txtNorthing after the user clicks on a button to capture the GPS point.

RE: Newb question - import csv file

I've done this in the past and have had no problems. The CSV should probably look something like this: "Long","Lat" 48.23,-78.23 48.65,-78.12 In CoordTrans you should be able to choose which field is what, and then specify the the proper transformation. Are you using this in 'Trial' mode?? You have ...

RE: ZoomByBoundingBox in CF Not Working

The only thing I can think of is that you need to make it say:

MapGPS.ZoomByBoundingBox(position2, position1);

As per the Reference Manual, you need it to be (upperLeft, lowerRight). You rectangle will still draw if these are switched, but the Zoom probably won't work.

RE: how to get max speed from GPS?

Check out NmeaParser.EventInterval in the Reference Manual. It's probably that your Garmin is only transmitting the data every two seconds, but you should check with the owners manual or the Garmin website to be sure. GPSTools can be adjusted to check as often as you want using the .EventInterval me...

RE: MAP in a Panel in vb.net not visible

When you add the MapLib it is not automatically centered. You are probably looking at the white space in the upper left corner of the MapLib. Do a search on the forum and you will find the code you need to center the map.

RE: EXCEL VBA GET COORDINATES FROM GPS

Here is the code I use in MS Access. This is using GPSTools ActiveX. This is basically the same as what you will see in the samples. Private WithEvents objParser As GpsToolsXP.NmeaParser Private Sub Form_Load() Dim objLicense As New License objLicense.LicenseKey = "*******" End Sub Private Sub cmdGP...

Identify a Polygon

Hi, I'm trying to click on a polygon and return it's ShapeID in a MessageBox. I've been looking at the samples but can't get my head around what I need to do. So far I have a Map1_OnObjectDown event and in that event I start with: GpsViewNET.MapShapeFile clickedShapefile = (GpsViewNET.MapShapeFile)o...

Yes, a shapefile can only be of one type. Point, Line or Polygon.

If you read the DBF that will tell you how many objects are in the SHP. Not sure if that helps though.

RE: how to drag Objects on the Map with mouse

This is how I do this when I have the entire map object filled with many shapefiles. 1. using MouseDown: click on the map and store the XY position of the click 2. using MouseMove: move the mouse and calculate the change in X and Y of new mouse position; refresh the map 3. using MouseUp: finish and ...
