RE: FREE M2M Data SIMS

Roaming data tariffs will end soon in Europe. My Lebara SIM should be free to use in Europe too. Why would I need to pay for 5Mbytes?

RE: FREE M2M Data SIMS

In the UK, I use a Lebara sim card which gives me 1Mbyte of data free each day. This is more than enough for GPRS tracking.

RE: Newbie - Setting up tracking for all vehicles

Hi bigweed. I was just interested to know why you got disillusioned with the Navman product and service. Was it price or reliability issues or maybe software performance. Did you just need simple location data and not all the reporting stuff. I am not so much interested in the "Navman" product, just...

RE: Trackers which support history/buffering?

The TracerX2 device will buffer positions when GSM signal is lost uploading them to a server when GSM signal returns. It is low cost and in the UK can use a free SIM card. Website also free.

RE: Sim Card Provider Ireland

I would think that all sim card providers in Ireland would support tracking via SMS or GPRS. You would just need to shop around to see who provides the cheapest service.

RE: data question

Hi Jeff. When the "Buddy Tracker" service was up and running I used to send GPS tracker data to IP 69.10.131.178 port 30176 also.... smartpipe@gpsgate.com port 30176 This was the address of the "Smartpipe" input which I think had some sort of "intelligence" written in to be able to decode gps tracki...

RE: Garmin Aera 550

Presumably you connect the Garmin device to your pc via a usb connection. This should create a com port on your pc that you can view in the "Control Panel - system - hardware -device manager - ports" listing. On the Gpsgate "input" option, this is the port you need to select, (com port not a virtual...

RE: GPSGate 2.6 client won't start on VISTA

Have you tried to run the program from the "Start-All programs" option rather than the desktop icon. Presumably you deleted the software through the "Control Panel-add/remove programs" option. All your user selections are stored in the C:/Gpsgate folder. If you enter the sub folders you can delete a...

I am pretty certain that all functions in the licensed version are available in the trial version. The trial version just has a time limit I believe.

UDP/TCP input option

I am able to point my gps tracking device to an ip address and port. I can send strings via a UDP or TCP connection. I have set my device to send a UDP string to my own PC's IP address on port 20175. In theory then I should be able to select "UDP Receiver" as the input option and then a virtual com ...

Just in case any other users need the same option to output filtered data to a real com port, this is the file that I made with Johan's advice above.... RE: MySQL Server previously installed and then deleted

I had no individual issues that needed solving in this case. On second install I ticked "include bin directory in windows path" because the set-up video said that's what I had to do. Likewise with the "add firewall exception". The first install was done many months ago before I had viewed your usefu...
