RE: Set input/output to different Baud rates

Yes, that is how GpsGate´s virtual ports work. But just out of curiosity, How does GpsGate handle a situation where there is more input data than what the output can handle? The OP´s situation is a typical example where that might happen. Some data obviously need to be discarded. But what kind of lo...

Receiving data from gpsgate.com

Hi/Hej, Not sure if this is a client or server problem, trying the client forum anyway.... I run into a problem that I think is quite severe. This is my setup: - Gpsgate client running on an on-board computer in a SAR vessel. Win XP, v. 2.6.340. - The client set to upload the position to gpsgate.com...

RE: Suggestions and ideas for GpsGate Client 3.0

Hej Johan, Well, congratulations for version 2.6. I honestly think that it is the best software I ever has purchased. Fits my need almost perfectly (on an onboard computer in a boat, Windows XP) and is priced in a reasonable way. It's technical quality is also pretty good. But there are some improve...

RE: UDP input compatible with AIS?

Thanks,

I interpret that as not supported but supposed to work. :)

Then I guess that a serial-to-network adapter also should work with GpsGate client.

UDP input compatible with AIS?

Hi,

Is the UDP Input in Gpsgate client compatible with AIS devices that transmit data over a network? Can I for example set up a COMAR SLR200N, point it at an UDP port in my Win computer and have Gpsgate forward the data to any application I want?

OK, and remember to mention that this is the new format of VTG (introduced in NMEA 0183 v. 3.01). Maybe the code was developed for the old format without the units-fields?

RE: GpsGate don't understand speed and track data

OK, I already found out the answer. Turning on RMC solved the problem. So now we know that GpsGate can't understand speed and direction data in VTG, but RMC is OK. It would however be nice to get the official list of which sentences the product supports.

GpsGate don't understand speed and track data

Hi, I have a vehicle where the GPS by default transmits SOG and COG data in $GPVTG sentences (new NMEA 0183 v. 3.01 format). My problem is that speed and track shows as zero in gpsgate.com and any other webapplications that get data from gpsgate.com. I have tried to set my GpsGate v. 2.6 client in W...

Show position of a point on a track

Hi, I have a web application that shows the current position and tracks of a vehicle with GpsGate onboard. It is based on gpsgate.com and example code from Franson's site. Now there is a need to easily find out the time and position of any point on the track. The ideal solution would be to let the u...

RE: why am I not getting answers?

Maybe you are asking the wrong people. If you have misplaced your GPS, it is probably better to ask your family or friends instead of posting on a forum.

RE: compatibility/raymarine gps/wx worx

How are you connecting the Seatalk bus to the PC? I have a similar setup (with Raystar 125) and use the E85001 to convert Seatalk to NMEA 0183, and that is then fed to an ordinary COM-port at the PC. GpsGate for Widows works just fine with this setup. Are you using some interface hardware that came ...

For how long is GpsGate v. 2.6 buffering data?

Hi, I'm using GpsGate 2.6 as a service on Win XP SP3 to upload position data to gpsgate.com. The bufferig feature works like a charm and the tracks show my position without gaps even if I have a temporary loss of network. And I know that I can set the buffer space setting high to hold data for a lon...
