RE: nRoute giving "Lost Sattilite Reception" message

Hi, It would be greatly appreciated if you could send log-files to support (at) franson (dot) com. Keep your current configuration and add a Recorder as GpsGate ouput. Startup nRoute and make sure you manage to replicate this problem while logging. Then simply e-mail us the resulting log-file, and w...

RE: how do i get the prerequisite files on MOTO Q

Hi,

Exactly which files did you download? There should be an installation package or something similiar.

RE: Moto Q - cannot install files

Hi, You need CLDC 1.1 and MIDP 2.0 to run GpsGate Mobile. I'm not sure if this is installed by default on your phone or not. Check if there's an application called "midlet manager" or something similiar to that. Otherwise, check your product manual for any instances of Java. If you can find any, che...

RE: Tray Icon

Hi, Did you add a Garmin Emulator as output of GpsGate? If not, you need to do this. Simply click the output tab of GpsGate, select "Garmin Emulator" and click add. You also need to configure Garmin Que to connect to the proper port. Check the Garmin Que manual for details on how to do this. If you ...

RE: Garmin 10 Bluetooth Problem

Hi, If the log file doesn't contain NMEA (plain text) the device is probably configured to output Garmin data (binary). If so, you need to configure the Garmin 10 to output NMEA data. Read in the Garmin 10 manual how to do this (you got a CD with the device; I think there's a program on that you can...

RE: SerialPort.htm

Hi, The sample above uses the "Toolbar API", which allows you to receive GPS data without actually dealing with NMEA. You simply * Include http://update.gpsgate.com/script/gateapi.js in your HTML-file. If update.gpsgate.com for some reason is not accessible, the Toolbar API will load a local version...

RE: Google Earth Output doesn't write any track-points

Hi,

The Google Earth plugin currently gets fix information from GGA sentences. We'll fix so that RMC sentences are used as soon as possible.

Thank you for your report!

RE: Holux GPS receiver and MapSource

Hi, MapSource doesn't use the NMEA protocol as is used by other products. Thus, you need to configure GpsGate to output the Garmin protocol instead. You can get a description on how this is done here: http://franson.com/gpsgate/guide.asp?section=nRoute_200&platform=winxp Regards, Andreas Nilsson Fra...

RE: DMS to DD

Hi, Your coordinate format is correct (impressive by the way, considering the syntax :). However, the format will only match either a latitude or a longitude, not a pair of them. The second, a bit more serious thing, is that the coordinate format seems to become corrupted as it goes through the data...

As for XT, we are aware of the problem. We haven't, however, looked into why and how we can fix it yet.

RE: garmin iqueM5 and Holux BT 236

Hi, You should be able to find the port settings under "Menu -> System Settings -> Interface". If that tab isn't available we will need to check if the interface configuration is disabled in Garmin products with built-in devices, and if it is possible to override it. It would be appreciated if you c...

RE: garmin iqueM5 and Holux BT 236

Hi, This should be possible. To accomplish it follow these steps: 1. Configure the GpsGate input to use the Holux BT 236. 2. Add a Garmin emulator to the output. Select an appropriate port and in the Garmin emulator settings dialog, either enter the unit id manually (you can find it using MapSource)...

RE: Garmin 18 USB NMEA Decoder Failure

Hi, > GPSGate was repeatedly sending the same data infinitely This sound like a bug. If I remember correctly, Garmin Que behaves poorly when Garmin packets stop arriving, and I believe that's the root of the problem. We'll look into it and try to come up with a better solution to this. > nRoute and ...

RE: Can't connect to Google Earth

Hi, The NMEA mux is an "advanced feature" and is therefore hidden by default. To show these, do this: 1. Open the GpsGate dialog (tray icon -> settings). 2. Click on the "Advanced" tab. 3. Click "Show more options". Several options will immediatelly get visible in the "Advanced" tab. 4. Click on the...

RE: Can't connect to Google Earth

Hi, The Google Earth plugin is currently only able to display a single position. It is an interesting idea for a feature to be able to display several positions though. You can combine several NMEA sources by using the GpsGate multiplixer. You can get more information on how to use it here: http://w...
